The
Colorado
Directory

We have lived in this very large house for more than 30 years. Our two kids are grown up and gone - one all the way to Australia! We converted the ground floor level to a self-contained "apartment." The apartment and the location are much too nice not to share. There are fabulous mountain views and you can walk out your door into Pike National Forest. The Meridian trailhead into Mt Evans Wilderness Area is a 25 minute walk through the forest or a 10 minute drive away. Numerous other trailheads are nearby.

63 Getaway Rates
We are just getting started in this endeavor. Not every detail is finished but you will enjoy your stay and you will be comfortable. Take advantage of our still low, introductory rates. Once we get closer to "perfection," we will get more in line with other facilities in the area.
There is a minimum stay of two days for a Friday or a Saturday.

$75 per night for one person; $95 for a couple
$15 each additional person

We have a queen bed, a twin bed, a double futon and a single/twin size sofa sleeper. (We also can supply air mattresses and bedding for kids, if needed.)

Method of payment: When we mutually agree on your stay we will send an email invoice for a 50% down payment. You will be able to pay by credit or debit card, bank transfer, or PayPal, if you have an account. The final payment will be due 5-7 days prior to check-in and can be done the same way. Cash payment might be possible to arrange.

Guests may smoke outside the apartment but NOT inside the unit. Sorry, no pets at this time.

Remember this property is at an altitude of 9,000 feet, where a very few people might have altitude sickness, especially with heavy physical exertion. (Although we have never seen a real case - just a few people that needed to take it easy for the first day, or so.) Use caution and drink plenty of water.

Guests are advised to be careful of all the hazards of high mountain living, which may be different from what they are accustomed to. These include mountain lions, bears, moose, lightning, high wind, falls, ice and snow, rock slides, avalanche, and injury due to skiing or hiking. All wildlife can be dangerous and should not be approached. Our thin air makes sunburn and breathing hazard extreme; protect yourself. This IS a HIGH mountain environment! (This is equivalent to the fine print. We haven't had any more problems - probably less - than your average city dweller.)
